Building on the most successful year for Belfast Ultimate so far, nominations for the Annual Belfast Ultimate Awards have been received for 2008. The Awards include the Best Player, the Best Beginner, the Most Spirited Player and the Biggest Contribution.
Once in a while, it's nice to get a bit of recognition and especially if it's from those on high. And so it was this year for Belfast Ultimate which was nominated for Biggest Contribution to Ultimate in Ireland by the Irish Flying Disc Association, the governing body for Ultimate in Ireland.
Belfast Ultimate Summer League is being extended. The additional dates are Tuesday evenings on 5th 12th and 19th August, and Saturday 30th August.

Mark it in your diaries, 10th June 2008 at 7pm was the beginning of the second largest Ultimate Frisbee League in Ireland!! Ok, there isn't a lot of competition with just the one other league in Dublin but nonetheless an occasion to be proud of. An exciting event showing how Ultimate is growing in Belfast and beyond.
On Sat 31st May, some of us (I think there were around 20 at one point) met up at various public locations around Belfast to promote ultimate. We played some 3 on 3 matches and showed off our new banner. It was a scorcher of a day. Click here for the image gallery. There's some video clips from the day below.
