It's taking place on Saturday, 19th December, from 7pm (after the Christmas Special Tournament), in the 4-star Park Avenue Hotel, Belfast. What you can expect from this evening of entertainment:

Indoor Sessions Start again

The indoor season has started again, 'cause it's dark outside in the evenings. Currently, there are two indoor sessions a week in Belfast:

Tuesday Evenings, 8pm-9pm
Thursday Evenings, 9pm-10pm

Both sessions are in the Grove Wellbeing Centre on York Street. We have to pay for the hall hire, so we'll be charging £4 per person per session to cover this.

New Queen's University Ultimate Frisbee Club

QUB student? Queens has a new Ultimate Frisbee club. If you're a Queens University student and want to play Ultimate, they'd love to have you along. Currently they train on Wednesday afternoons, 2pm-4pm, on the grass field beside the PEC on Stanmillis Embankment.

There's more information available on their website at http://www.queensultimate.co.uk/.

Summer League Finishes. CHASE Win.

Big group shot

Another year of Summer League finishes; one that saw around 78 people playing on 7 different teams, in a total of 36 games.

Of no surprise to anyone, CHASE won again, making it 2 for 2 and still remain undefeated in summer league. But they didn't quiet make it a clean sweep this year when they only managed a draw with an 'on form' Swerve team.

The middle of the table was much more interesting, with only a win or a draw separating most teams. You can see final standings on the results page.

SCRUFF return for Summer League. Schedule changes

With the return of SCRUFF into the Summer League the schedule has been completely rewritten.

SCRUFF did exceptionally well in last years Summer League, despite most of them having never played before (much). Their return this year is sure to provide a few interesting results.

Summer League Resumes

Summer League resumes again on Tuesday after it's holiday break. At the nearly half-way stage, CHASE have already taken a comfortable lead on the league table, winning all their games and putting them 5 points clear of second place Deep Heat. Will anyone be able to stop them?

Summer League Starts!

Summer League kicked off this past Tuesday with four teams playing in two matches.

Deep Heat vs CHASE

I didn't see much of this game, so can't comment on it's entirety. This is what I recollect.

Tour 0 Report

well this is what i remember...

1st game - brown 2: worst loss of the weekend. offence struggled against a basic zone defence. our man defense wasn't switched on at all. standard slow start.

2nd game - sheffield steel: oh this one hurts. up 10-5 to go on to lose 10-12. man defense worked a lot better. strugglled again against a zone defense for the final 7 points. lots of turnovers deep in our own half.

3rd game - baf2: used our zone defense to great effect. able to close out an easy win despite coming in after a marathon against steel.

Belfast Easter Special 2009 - Tournament Report

Congratulations to all for what was, for many people, a very successful Easter Special 2009. 10 teams (8 from the North, 1 from Tallaght and 1 from Maynooth) competed in one of the largest Ultimate competitions to be ever held in the North of Ireland.

From personal experience, many of the matches were won in Universal Point, testifying to how evenly matched teams were. Spirit, too, was well represented. Most teams (7) achieved three or more spirit votes from other teams.
