I Love A Nice Kebab

If you weren't there on Tuesday night, The second half of the summer league kicked off, But not as planned. We (LDW) where meant to be playing Deep Heat but they couldn't field a team (probably due to the absence of Pete and his organisational skills, I'm sure he's having a great time in Vancouver .... who ever heard of an Irish frisbee team?) and that left us with no one to play. Same with CHASE, they were meant to be playing SCRUFF, however, SCRUFF too could not field a team. But Alas, The Mighty Kebab Hammer rised from the ashes and turned up looking for a game. With two teams wanting to play the Comber boys and ourselves flipped for it, and we got to play.

Kebab Hammer put up a great game, with both teams trading points the whole way through. If I'm being honest, LDW weren't playing as good as we could have been, maybe that's down to the rain, who knows? However Kebab Hammer showed passion the whole way through and for a moment I thought they where going to take it. when it was down to the Last point the score was 9-8 to us. Time had gone and the point went on forever it seemed, with plenty of turnovers. It was looking more and more like a repeat of last time we played Kebab Hammer and LDW weren't looking for a draw this time round. Finally it ended with a cheeky manoeuvre from Jason through Darragh's leg's into the endzone for the winning catch.

As always Kebab Hammer where great fun to play and it was a great start to the league.

Much Love

Stu (LDW)
